Timber French
Doors

Paired outward-opening timber doors for the rear elevations of period homes — a common and elegant feature in Victorian and Edwardian London properties.

What we offer

Rear elevation
done right.

French doors — paired outward-opening timber doors, typically glazed — are a natural feature of Victorian and Edwardian homes in London. They bring light into rear reception rooms, connect living spaces to gardens, and sit sympathetically alongside the sash windows that characterise these properties.

We make bespoke timber French doors to your opening size, in any of our three timber grades, with all glazing and finish options available. On projects that also include sash windows, the doors are finished and ironmongered to match.

Planning restrictions at the rear of most London period homes are less onerous than at the front, giving more latitude on glazing specification and door design.

Why timber

The right material
for period homes.

Sympathetic to the property

Timber French doors match the material and character of the original building fabric in a way that aluminium or uPVC cannot — particularly important in conservation areas.

Finish flexibility

Any colour from RAL, Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, or NCS. Painted before delivery with Teknos Microporous spray finish for a durable, consistent result.

Integrated with sash work

On projects combining sash windows and French doors, we specify and finish both together — same colour, same ironmongery finish, same installation team.
