Timber Sash
Windows

Bespoke double-hung timber sash windows for period and modern properties across London. Designed to last, specified to your property and planning requirements.

What we offer

Made to measure.
Made to last.

A timber sash window is a double-hung unit — two sashes that slide vertically within a box frame, counterbalanced by lead weights on cords running over brass pulleys. When well made and correctly maintained, they outlast almost every alternative.

We offer full replacement — new frame, linings, pulley stiles, sashes, glazing, ironmongery, and finish — made to the exact measurements taken at the site survey. Every window is specified individually.

External finishing and making good are included. We leave the opening clean and weather-tight.

Design options

Every detail,
your choice.

Glazing bar configuration

Plain sashes, solid bars, or Georgian bars (6-over-6, 4-over-4, 2-over-2). Specified to match your existing windows or chosen from scratch.

Sash horns

Ogee or scroll horns on the lower sash — historically used from the Victorian era to reinforce heavier panes. We match existing horns exactly.

Timber species

Engineered Redwood (standard), Red Grandis Hardwood (premium), or FSC Accoya (specialist). Each available in all glazing and finish options.

Glazing

Single, laminated, double, slimline double, or vacuum glazing. We advise on the right option for your property type and planning context.

Colour & finish

Spray-finished with Teknos Microporous paint in any RAL, Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, or NCS colour — applied before delivery.

Ironmongery

Meeting rail fasteners and sash lifts from Mighton Products. 9 metal finishes including satin chrome, antique brass, and matt black.

Conservation & listed buildings

Planning-sensitive
work undertaken.

A large part of our work is in London's conservation areas — particularly in Kensington, Chelsea, Notting Hill, and Westminster. We know what conservation officers require and specify accordingly.

For listed buildings, we specify single or vacuum glazing to satisfy Historic England and local authority requirements. Profile matching on all conservation work is carried out from detailed site measurements.
